The frequency that Alertus Desktop clients pull alerts from the server is known as the polling interval. The polling interval is controlled at the server level and highly configurable. The Alertus system can be configured to use a constant fixed polling interval or a variable polling interval that is automatically controlled by the system based on the current system load and resources. The maximum number of clients an Alertus server can support at a given time is directly correlated to the polling interval.
