Alertus Third Party API
Alertus' middleware architecture was built from the ground up with the intention to be activated through other systems. Activation through our open 3rd Party SOAP API is the preferred way to activate the system because it offers the following advantages:
- Instant Activation - Alerts are pushed directly to Alertus Server.
- Localization - Ability to target to specific groups of units.
- Alert Profile Selection - Finer control over the particular alert tones, volume, etc..
- Feedback / Status Reporting - Ability to verify systems are communicating properly.
- Streamlined User Interface - Simpler interfaces since less fields are generally required
Certified API Integrators:
CAP Activation
We like open standards. So, naturally we're big proponents of the Common Alert Protocol (CAP). For more information on Alertus' support and involvement with CAP see this page. The following summarizes the benefits of the CAP integration approach
- Standardized - Allows compatibility with all applications that support the specification.
- Government Supported - Compatibility with up and coming FEMA initiatives including IPAWS-OPEN (formerly DMIS-OPEN).
Below we've included a partial listing of some of the major MNS systems which list the ability to generate CAP feeds. Note: Alertus has not verified the CAP compliance of all the vendors listed below.
