VoIP & IP Phone Notification

1.00

Alertus Technologies’ VoIP phone notification transforms office phones into a unified emergency communication system. This innovative technology allows you to simultaneously activate audible visual notifications on all or select VoIP phones and speakers. It also works alongside Alertus Desktop Notification and other Alertus net-centric alerting endpoints to ensure consistent enterprise-wide notifications.

Alertus VoIP phone notification provides text and audio notifications that can be sent real-time, such as emergency alerts and live audio notifications (i.e., paging/intercom), or they can be scheduled via the scheduling system. VoIP phone notification integrates the phone system with a large number of disparate endpoints such as Cisco phones, Avaya phones, ShoreTel phones, standalone SIP systems, and IP speakers. Notifications can be made by simply picking up the phone and dialing the notification group directory number.

Key Features

  • Notification Coverage: Designed for large area, high-occupancy facilities with multiple locations

  • Integrated: Supports multiple IP phone brands and models, a variety of IP speakers, and available PA/GV Interface Module for legacy speaker systems

  • Emergency Alerting: Send an emergency notification to all phones in a defined paging group. The alert will play a recorded message or an audio tone over the phone’s speaker until canceled. Stationary or scrolling text will also display depending on the phone model

  • Immediate Activation: Activate and cancel alerts directly from the Alertus Server using a secure connection into Cisco API's, resulting in fast and efficient message delivery

  • Dynamic Paging Groups: IP phones in a notification group can be assigned using a filter; as you add devices to the system there is no need to manage the notification group. Dynamic groups can be created by calling search space, device pool, partition, or line number.

  • Web Service API: Programmatically activate notification groups and gather information using inbound APIs

  • Activity Logging: Track all audible notifications activity for total system management

  • Secure: Leverage existing phone system security

  • Phone Trigger: Configure multiple extensions to trigger pre-set alerts on the Alertus Server

  • Call Monitor: Alerts appropriate personnel if a call is made to designated numbers

After months of research and working closely with Alertus technical staff, we were confident that we had found our solution. We now have three speaker banks throughout the campus, desktop alert, digital signage, door locks, and a campus phone system tied together under one solution.

Alertus VoIP phone notification activates almost instantly on phones and speakers when an emergency alert is sent. Unicast and multicast streaming models are supported, and activation for both occurs as follows.

An emergency alert is launched and sent to the Alertus server. The alert is routed through our integration software and then to the call manager (i.e., Cisco, Avaya, ShoreTel). The unicast or multicast message is then sent to all phones simultaneously. Phone audio or tones play simultaneously.

Alertus VoIP phone notification uses software to seamlessly integrate with Cisco, Avaya, ShoreTel, standalone SIP systems, and IP speakers. Server requirements and phone/speaker compatibility are listed below.
