Baltimore, MD – September 29, 2025 – Alertus Technologies, a market leader in mass notification solutions, is excited to announce the launch of its newest device for streamlining alert notifications: the WiFi Alert Activation Module.

This wireless, wall-mounted panic button is a cost-effective breakthrough for occupant spaces. Its WiFi connectivity to the Alertus Notification Solution Software eliminates the need for conventional wired communication and external power sources, providing an easy-to-install and long-lasting, battery-operated solution.

"Organizations are often limited in their ability to use physical panic buttons and hazard sensors due to architectural, budgetary, and physical network constraints, as well as the diverse threats unique to their personnel and operations," said Dr. Ben Brewer, Alertus Technologies' Director of Product Management. "In situations where a physical network connection isn't available and needs vary by location, the Alertus WiFi Alert Activation Module provides the necessary coverage and dynamic alert capacity while preserving economy of scale."

The device seamlessly integrates with existing Alertus Activation Buttons and offers flexible alert notification through its accommodation of up to two contact closures. It is highly versatile, supporting both Normally Closed and Normally Open switches, as well as latching and momentary contact closures. The device can also detect if a panic button remains pressed and will notify the customer of this status.

Operating on a single, long-lasting battery, the device is easily portable. It integrates with existing Alertus Activation Buttons and can detect if a button remains in the pressed state.

When an Activation Button is pressed in an emergency, the module is activated, prompting the Alertus Server to trigger integrated endpoints like desktop notifications, VoIP phone notifications, or High Power Speaker Arrays to deploy critical notifications across warehouses, school grounds and campuses, and a variety of other facilities.

"Over the past 20 years, we've seen great strides in network-connected devices to activate emergency notification systems," said Dr. Brewer. "However, most of these advancements have focused on personal alerts, with less attention on expanding sensor-based alert capabilities. With the Alertus WiFi Alert Activation Module, organizations can now handle both personal and sensor-based alert use cases with one device. Whether it's connected to a panic button to activate an active assailant alert or to a hazardous gas sensor to trigger protective actions, this is the first device designed to seamlessly support both needs."

The WiFi Alert Activation Module is now available for customers and partners across the U.S. and is being showcased this week at the Global Security Exchange (GSX) in New Orleans, Louisiana. For those who are attending GSX, please stop by booth #1119 for a personal showing of this new capability!
